Learning Resources

Here are two simple learning resources to accompany Little Letters. They do not require special equipment and are suitable for the classroom or at home. These activities are designed for 8/9 year olds.

Gene Sequence Exercise

A scientist has found some bone and wants to know what animal it comes from. She removes the DNA from the cells, and sequences it. Can you figure out, by matching the sequences you have made, what the animal is?

Download ideas for discussion topics to explore concepts introduced in the book and encourage deep learning.

Create your own story

In this activity you will create your own story using the pictures below. Be imaginative, and try and include some of the things you learned from Little Letters.

Please send completed creative stories to me at T.B.Taylor@bath.ac.uk
